Nepal 2012
2012 was the 8th journey to Nepal to provide service to rural schools and the children who attend them. We were able to provide supplies and funds to 14 schools to move them towards improving thier building (s), educational supplies, science labs, or other improvements that heighten the quality of education for the children. The children were each provided personal school supplies that were either donated stateside or purchased in Nepal. Many of the children (mostly the young girls) also received necklaces, bracelets or some other piece of donated jewelry from the many supporters of the schools project. There were three Rotary Clubs that were instrumental in making this possible. First of course was my home club, Ripley Rotary who have supported this project since its inception in 2004. Grafton Rotary has been sponsor for the past four years and Buckhannon Rotary the past two years. Rotary District 7530 has supported a District Simplified Grant each of the 8 years that has provided additional funds for school supplies.
The majority of the funds to serve the schools and children have come from you, my friends, peers, and others who have believed in the project and our ability to carry it through. I thank you sincerely for you have helped to make a difference in a child's life.
I hope that you enjoyed the journals as the journey unfolded and that now you can have a visual connection to that. I understand that there are other ways within technology to combine the journals and photos in "real" time but it really is too much at the end of a day to pull it all together that way.....and I resist too much technology. The photos are in chronological order although at times they may seem to abruptly change locals.
Peace to each of you, may love fill your life.
